Pajama Run fundraiser gets Long Beach out of bed
Children, parents, students and community members gathered together in their favorite pajamas Saturday evening to participate in the 3rd annual Pajama Run on the scenic beach bike path in Long Beach. FULL STORY

RUN IN YOUR PAJAMAS and join the fun and fitness while raising money for local charities! Also, a 1/2-mile kids' fun run will take place at 6:30 p.m.

THE COURSE
Start/Finish: 1 Bennett Ave. near the Belmont Pool. The very flat “out-and-back” course, on the scenic beach bike path will first head east toward the Granada Ave. Boat Launch Ramp. Runners will then make a U-turn and head toward the Queen Mary and downtown Long Beach. The 5K turnaround will be near the Junipero Ave. parking lot and the 10K turnaround will be near Shoreline Village.

SLEEPWEAR AWARDS
Be sure to wear pajamas, nightgowns, robes, towels, smoking jackets, nighties, teddies, curlers, etc. Certificates will be presented for the best overall kids and adult sleep outfits.

FUN RUN TIMING
Times will be written on your runner's bib as you cross the finish line, upon request. Top-three 5K, 10K, and kids' run females & males will receive an award certificate. Other prizes to be announced. There is no professional timing company for this charity run. Large 2-sided digital race clock will be at start/finish line.

KIDS' RUN 12 & UNDER
This is a fun run and is not professionally timed. Parents are welcome to run alongside their child. Each child pre-registered in the 1/2-Mile Run will receive a t-shirt. The fastest boys and girls will receive prizes.

WALKERS & STROLLERS WELCOME
Participants are welcome to walk or push a stroller. Those slower than a 15-minute mile are encouraged to register for the 5K.

RACE-DAY REGISTRATION
Near the start line, beginning one hour before the race. $25/cash for 5K/10K runners and $15/cash for the Kids' Run.

T-SHIRTS
100% cotton, white, short-sleeved shirts for each participant. XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL. T-shirt pick at the registration tent begins one hour before the run.

RESTROOMS & WATER
Water stations will be manned at the start/finish and at the 5K and 10K turn-around points.  Also, there are restrooms and water fountains approx. every mile along the beach bike path.

PARKING
There are more than 1,000 metered parking spaces in the beach-front parking lot EAST of the Belmont Pool. From Ocean Blvd., enter the parking lot at Bennett Ave. and turn left. Bring quarters.
